The scorching weather has spurred a significant rise in tourists heading to water amusement facilities, showcasing a range of attractions from swimming pools and artificial waves to thrilling water slides and entertainment ladders. Approximately 40% of visitors prefer these aquatic adventures, with around 2% seeking more adrenaline-pumping experiences in canyons and rivers for drifting activities. For the more daring individuals, extreme water sports like diving and surfing are the ultimate thrill.



The thrill of water parks and rafting spots for the younger generation

Water parks and rafting scenic spots have become hotspots for cooling off during the scorching summer months, particularly for the 16-30 age group, constituting over 60% of visitors. These young, adventurous individuals are keen on exploring new experiences and embracing challenges. The exhilarating rafting rivers within water parks have emerged as a defining feature of water amusement facilities, captivating the interest of the youth.



The summer exodus to coastal cities and popular beach destinations

Since June, there has been a 1.2-fold increase in summer vacationers flocking to domestic coastal cities compared to the previous year. The Yangtze River Delta region, influenced by soaring temperatures, has emerged as a key hub for escaping to seaside locales. Cities like Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Wuxi, and Suzhou are among the preferred departure points, with Guangzhou, Beijing, Shenzhen, Wuhan, and Chengdu also featuring in the top ten. Beach destinations such as Fengxian Bihaijinsha in Shanghai, Gulangyu Beach, Dadonghai Beach, Yalong Bay Beach in Sanya, and others have witnessed a surge in visitors, making them the top ten most popular beaches in China. Families, especially those with children, remain a significant segment of seaside vacationers, with private beach resorts and children’s pools gaining popularity.
