Instructions for Use of Water Park Amusement Facilities
Water parks are expansive recreational areas themed around water, offering leisure, entertainment, and sports. The main attractions include water slides and paddling pools, with water slides being particularly popular. These slides are water-based amusement facilities where visitors glide along the inner surface in a specified manner. They are categorised into linear and spiral slides based on their design, and into adult and children slides based on the age of the users. This variety caters to different thrill levels and age groups. As cultural and living standards improve, and consumption and leisure concepts evolve, water amusement facilities are increasingly seen as healthy and enjoyable entertainment options.
Safe Use and Management Methods
A. Water Park
1. The rules and instructions for various water amusement facilities should be prominently displayed. Staff should continuously inform visitors of precautions, using broadcasts for repeated reminders. They must also halt any dangerous behaviour to prevent accidents. Water park safety is paramount.
2. Areas prone to danger should have clear warning signs to alert visitors.
3. Each water amusement facility should have a monitoring station with dedicated personnel. The number and placement of these stations should cover the entire area.
4. Adequate lifeguards must be provided as per regulations. Lifeguards should be trained and certified, possessing life-saving knowledge and skills.
5. The ground in the water park should be free from stagnant water, gravel, glass, and other sharp objects.
6. Weather updates should be provided to visitors, with safe areas available for shelter from wind and rain.
7. A duty room and infirmary should be established, staffed with medical personnel and equipped with first aid facilities.
8. Chemicals should be used safely, with the pool bottom cleaned daily before opening, and floating objects on the water surface removed promptly.
9. Water quality should be checked daily, meeting the GB9667 “Swimming Pool Site Sanitation Standards”, and safety management and service quality should comply with GB/T16767 “Amusement Park (Farm) Safety and Service Quality”.
10. When open at night, main passages and public areas should have adequate lighting. Children’s paddling pools and slide pools should have a water surface illuminance of at least 75LX, while other pools should have at least 50LX.
11. During operation, staff should closely monitor visitor safety, reminding them of safety matters, correcting unsafe behaviours, and eliminating hazards.
12. If certain activities require specific health conditions or are unsuitable for certain illnesses, warnings should be posted at the activity entrance.
13. Visitors must shower and disinfect their feet before entering the pool, using the slide, or after using the toilet.
B. Slides
1. A prominent sign should be displayed at the slide entrance, detailing instructions, precautions, and descent methods.
2. Each slide entrance should have staff to check safety, guide visitors on the correct sliding method, and ensure no standing on the slide. They should also manage the order and timing of slides to prevent collisions. At the slide exit, staff should ensure visitors leave promptly to avoid accidents.
3. Staff should inspect slides daily before operation, ensuring no sharp edges, cracks, or deformations, and that transitions are smooth with no water leakage.
4. After safety checks, open the lubricating water valve and adjust the flow to ensure a safe, comfortable, and moderate sliding speed.
5. Conduct trial slides to ensure no bouncing or rolling, and that the slide feels comfortable.
C. Amusement Pool
1. Before operating amusement pools, water should be replenished to the specified level, with fresh water renewed monthly.
2. Each pool should ensure water purification every 2-6 hours, depending on the pool type.
3. Eye-catching water depth signs should be placed around the pool walls and at depth changes, with lifeguards present if depth exceeds 1.6 meters.
4. During children’s pool operation, fresh water with 0.3-0.5mg/L of chlorine should be continuously added.
5. Toddlers’ paddling pools and children’s slide pools must have dedicated staff for supervision to ensure safety.
6. The flow velocity of circulating rivers should be controlled below 1m/S.
Ensuring water park safety is crucial for a fun and secure experience for all visitors.
